OpenQuestions people usually ask us
What does an M&A adviser actually do?
We help you through the buying or selling of a business: the thinking (is this a good deal?), the numbers (what is it really worth?) and the paperwork (what do the terms actually mean?). You make the final call. We make sure you make it with the full picture, explained in plain language.
How is a business valued?
There is rarely one magic number. A business valuation usually means working out a reasonable range using a few different methods, such as comparing the business with similar companies and looking at its expected future cash flow. The range is then explained clearly, so you can see why it looks the way it does.
Where in the world do you work?
Anywhere. We are an online firm and work by video, phone and email with business owners, boards and investors worldwide, with a particular focus on the GCC, India and Europe and on deals that cross those regions.
Which industries do you work with?
Many. The core work of reading financial statements, building models, checking numbers and structuring deals applies across almost any industry. If you are not sure whether we are a fit, just ask.
Do you only work with large companies?
No. We work with businesses of different sizes, from family-owned businesses to larger companies.
What is the difference between a valuation and a financial model?
A financial model is a spreadsheet that projects how a business might perform. A valuation uses that model, plus other methods, to answer one question: what is this business worth today? You usually need the first to do the second properly.
Is Aamir Capital a bank, a broker or a licensed adviser?
No. We are an advisory company. We do not manage money, hold client funds, trade or place securities, or act as a real estate agent. Where a regulated or licensed firm is needed, we work alongside one.
